To use this project, you need the free MicroWorlds Web Player, but you do not need to know anything about MicroWorlds. This project uses online "Cuisenaire rods" to illustrate multiplication problems. You click the blue triangles to change the numbers, then click "Multiply!" and watch as the problem is set up in the form of a rectangle. This screenshot shows several problems. The yellow rectangle illustrates the problem at the top of the screen: 3 x 5. You may click the = sign to see the numerical answer or count the number of squares in the rectangle.
